Web Hosting

  • How Do I Register a Domain Name?
    Registering a domain name is very easy at IT Place. First make sure that the domain you want is available, please click here to check if domain you want is available for registration. If the requested domain is available continue to next step to register the domain.
  • How to recover Hosting Manager Password?
    Due to security reasons please Contact Us in order to recover password. Please add username in the request.
  • How to Change FTP password?
    Click here to redirect to Hosting manager page.
    • Type in your username and password and click Login
    • Click on the FTP Accounts button
    • Click change password
    • Type in the new password and click change
    • Please allow 10 minutes in order for changes to take effect
  • How to create MySQL Database
    Click here to redirect to Hosting manager page.
    • Under databases tab click mysql databases
    • Enter database name in new database field
    • Click create database
    • Type the username and a password under Add New User and click Create User
    • Select the username and database under add user to database and click submit
    • Assign required permission to user and click Make Changes
  • How to create sub domains
    Definition:Subdomains allows to create different section for your website for e.g. For master domain "example.com.au", "home" section can create sub site with different service or information and will be refered as "home.example.com.au".

    • Click Subdomains under the Domains tab
    • Type the text for the new subdomain in the Subdomain field.**Please make sure to follow domain name conventions
    • Click create
  • What is web space and data transfer?
    Web space is the size your website can be, Data transfer is the amount of data the server will allow your site to send in a month.
  • How do I upload my site?
    Uploading the contents for the website can be performed using one of the many FTP softwares available on the internet for e.g. Filezilla or Cute FTP. Files can also be uploaded via web browser.
  • What is uptime?
    Uptime is the amount of time your site is online throughout the entire month. At IT Place we guarantee an uptime of 99% to our customers.
  • Why would I need a dedicated IP?
    If you want to provide anonymous FTP or a website using SSL, a dedicated IP will be required.

Email Hosting

  • How to create Email Accounts?
    • Log in to Hosting Manager
    • Click Email Accounts under mail tab
    • Type email address header in the email field and the password in the password field
    • Type the Size limit for the mailbox in the Quota field. If no size limit is entered, mailbox will only be limited by the available disk space
    • Click Create
    • To setup and access email account please refer to the Set Up your Email and an email client for checking your email

DNS Hosting

  • What is DNS Hosting?
    DNS Hosting service allows the ability to edit your domain zone file so that A, CNAME and MX records can be added as required. This service also allows you to add URL and Email Forwarding
    **DNS Hosting is included FREE with all web and email hosting Plans

SSL Certificates

  • How to generate CSR for certificates?
    • Apache OpenSSL / Mod_SSL
      • Generate a pair of private key and public Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for a webserver using the following command : openssl req -new -nodes -keyout filename.key -out servername.csr The above command will creates two files. The file filename.key contains a private key; please do not disclose this file to anyone, backup the file to another location and carefully protect the private key. The private key is used as input in the command to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
      • You will now be asked to enter details to be entered into your CSR
        Some fields will have a default value, If '.' is entered, the field will be left blank.

        Country Name (2 letter code) : AU
        State or Province Name : Full name of your state
        Locality Name : Full name of your city
        Organization Name : Company / business name
        Organizational Unit Name (eg, section) []: Department name. "IT" is used often
        Common Name []: www.mydomain.com or mysubdomain.mydomain.com (This is the Full website address you want to install SSL certificate.)
        Email Address []: (optional)

        Input the 'extra' attributes to be sent with your certificate request

        A challenge password []: (optional)
        An optional company name []: (optional)

        Use the name of the webserver as Common Name (CN). If the domain name is mydomain.com append the domain to the hostname (use the fully qualified domain name).
        Your CSR will now have been created. Open the servername.csr in a text editor and copy and paste the contents into the online enrollment form when requested.
    • Cpanel
      • Logon to your cpanel account
      • Under Security tab and click the SSL/TLS Manager
      • You have to generate the host key first. Please keep this key
      • On the next page click on "Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests."

      • Fill in the details in the form and click Generate
